We are delighted to report that our IBIL colleague, Felipe Osorio Umaña, passed his PhD viva voce examination yesterday.
Felipe's thesis, entitled ‘A Public Approach to Copyright Exceptions. A Study on Fundamental Rights’ Influence on the Interpretation of Copyright Exceptions in EU and UK law’, was supervised by Dr Daniela Simone and Professor Ilanah Fhima. His examiners were Dr Alina Trapova, from the UCL Faculty of Laws and Professor Christophe Geiger, Luiss Guido Carli University (Rome). Felipe was awarded scholarship from the UCL Faculty of Laws to help fund his PhD project.
During his time at UCL, Felipe has been an active member of IBIL and the Laws community, including participating in research seminars and organisation of the inaugural IBIL PhD Conference. Further information about his research can be found here.
We are sure that you will join us in congratulating Felipe on this incredible achievement!
