UCL has moved up two places from 12th to 10th place, reflecting the Faculty’s excellent teaching, learning and research across a range of legal sub-fields, as well as our interdisciplinary strength. The result adds to UCL Laws’ strong performance in national league tables, including our 1st place ranking in The Times Good University Guide 2025, and solidifies our international reputation as a leading research-led law school globally.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings subject league table for Law ranks 389 institutions from 48 countries and territories using 18 indicators. Universities are ranked according to teaching, research environment and quality, industry, and international outlook, which are used to calculate an overall score.
Professor Eloise Scotford (Dean of UCL Laws) said:
“I am delighted to see that UCL Laws has been ranked one of the top 10 law schools internationally. Our aspiration is to be a law faculty for the world: our excellent research and education influence policy and deliver tangible impact to societies across the globe. We are continuing to build partnerships with legal and academic institutions and alumni worldwide to embed and further our reach. At the heart of our success is our commitment to academic excellence, to diversity of thought and to the rule of law, creating a welcoming and inspiring environment for our global community of students, staff, and alumni, whose contributions are instrumental in our successes as a Faculty.”
