Professor Rob George appointed King’s Counsel

The appointment of barristers and solicitors as new King’s Counsel (KC) in England and Wales has been announced today.

Professor Rob George (Professor of Law and Policy at UCL Laws) has been appointed King’s Counsel, to take effect from 24 March 2025. King’s Counsel are appointed from amongst practising advocates who have demonstrated excellence in advocacy in difficult cases in the higher courts of England and Wales.
Professor George’s work focuses on family law, with a particular expertise in cases concerning children after parental separation, international family law disputes, and children’s rights. His practice has taken him to the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal on numerous occasions, and he appears regularly in the High Court and the Family Court in complex family law cases.

Professor George is a rare talent who has achieved academic and legal professional success to the highest levels, in parallel and on an impressive career trajectory. We are delighted that Professor George’s authoritative expertise in this field, in academia and at the bar, is being recognised with this prestigious and well-deserved appointment.”
In addition, Flora Page (PhD student at UCL Laws) has also been appointed King's Counsel. As an experienced criminal advocate, Flora's particular expertise is in corporate and financial crime. Most notably, Flora has worked extensively on the Post Office appeals and the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry, and acted for former sub-postmasters. Flora is currently a barrister at 23 Essex Street Chambers, and her PhD research focuses on a new approach to corporate integrity. She is also a member of the Legal Services Board, the oversight regulator for legal services.
