On 22 January 2025, UCL Laws, Green Alliance and the UK Envrionmental Law Assocaition (UKELA) co-hosted a thought provoking seminar on ‘UK Environmental Law: Taking Stock and Looking to the Future’.
With a packed audience in attendance, the event featured expert panel disccusions chaired by Professor Eloise Scotford (UCL Laws) and David Wolfe KC (Matrix Chambers). Speakers explored the ongoing implementation of the Envrionment Act, 2021 ans the different develoments across the UK’s nations. The discussions offered sharp insisghts into the future of environmental governance against a backdrop of presssing economic, infrastructure, climate and biodiversity challenges.
The seminar is the third in a hugely successful event series examining UK envrionmental law and governance in a changing political and legal landscape. Previous events include ’ A First Response to the Environment Bill’ (2019) and ’ Retained EU Law and the Envrionment’ (2023).
