On Wednesday 23 October 2024, students on the LLB Law with French law programme at UCL Laws, accompanied by the convenor, Professor Myriam Hunter-Henin, attended an event at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP) in Central London. The event marked the launch of a special vacation scheme track specifically for UCL and Queen Mary University of London students with dual legal expertise in English and French Law and dual linguistic skills in English and French.

Students were introduced to the scheme, which involves a four-week vacation placement in the London office at the end of the second year and an eight-week placement in the Paris office at the end of the third year.

They met with partners of the firm, heard testimonies about secondments in the Paris office and learnt about the rich diversity of interests and inclusivity of the firm.

The deadline for applying for the placement programme is midday on 17 January 2025.

Special thanks go to the Talent Development Team at BCLP, especially Chloe Muir and Isabel Elsey, for organising such an informative and inspiring event as well as to the UCL French Law Society, especially Alexandre Gliott, for suggesting such an initiative in the first place.
