UCL Laws LLB student Amanda Amaeshi nominated for Changemaker of the Year 2024

UCL Laws is delighted to share that third year LLB student Amanda Amaeshi has been nominated for the Next Gen: Changemaker of the Year 2024 award.
The awards are run by My Life My Say, a youth-led charity on a mission to encourage young people to participate in democracy and get every single young person voting.
Amanda commented:
"To be nominated for My Life My Say's award is such an honour, and a fantastic way to share my work with a broader audience - with the aim of inspiring others to take action to help make the world a better place."
Amanda is a British Nigerian activist, campaigner, and writer specialising in gender equality, anti-racism, and youth political participation. Her advocacy journey began as a Year of Young People 2018 ambassador and a member of the Girlguiding UK Advocate Panel. She has also worked closely with organisations including Young Scot, the National Youth Agency, and Intercultural Youth Scotland.
Amanda continues as a Young Spokesperson for Girlguiding Scotland and serves on the First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls (NACWG), engaging in intersectional policy scrutiny to ensure NACWG’s work in holding the Scottish Government to account considers the interests of girls and young women.
For her writing and campaigning, she was named on the Young Women’s Movement’s 30 Under 30 list and as the Glasgow Times Young Scotswoman of the Year 2020.
