In the QS World University Rankings 2021 for Law & Legal Studies, UCL Laws is ranked 15th in the world out of 320 institutions, moving up one place from last year’s position.

The position reflects UCL Laws’ continued strong performance in national subject league tables for Law, with the Faculty ranking 2nd in the Guardian University Guide 2021; and 2nd in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021.

The recently published QS World University Rankings by Subject 2021 are based upon academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.

To compile the rankings, QS used four key metrics (including academic standing, research performance based on citations and impact, and graduate employability) - the precise weighting of which varies by subject to reflect differing publication cultures across disciplines. 1,452 universities in 86 locations across the world have been ranked across 51 academic disciplines.

Across the university, UCL has been named as one of the world’s top universities for the study of 43 subjects. 24 of these subjects are in the world top 25 – and all but four subjects are ranked in the top 10 in the UK.
