UCL Laws welcomed three new members of academic staff in September 2020.

Dr Fabiana Bettini, Lecturer in Property Law, works in comparative property law where she compares property institutions across common law and civil law jurisdictions. She also works on traditional and new forms of multi-owned housing (condominium, blocks of flats, cohousing, CLTs) from a doctrinal, empirical, and comparative perspective. She is also interested in property law theory, focusing on collective property and the commons, and she is currently co-organising the ‘New Directions in Private Law Theory Conference' with UCL Laws colleagues, to be held in November 2021. Dr Bettini will teach on the Property I undergraduate module.

Dr David Foster is a Lecturer in Property Law and Legal History. His research interests lie in the history of equity and trusts, particularly in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Dr Foster will be teaching on the Property I and Property II undergraduate modules and Historical Development of the Common Law postgraduate module.

Killian O’Brien is DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Lecturer in German Law. His main research interest is in public international law, with a focus on the international law of the sea. In particular, he is interested in the interface between law of the sea and both international environmental law as well as asylum and migration issues at sea.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to the new members of the Faculty.
