Dr Danae Azaria & Prof Richard Gardiner to speak at event commemorating 50th Anniversary of the VCLT
23 May 2019
The event, hosted by the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, marks the 50th Anniversary of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (VCLT).
On 23 May 2019, Dr Danae Azaria, Associate Professor, and Professor Richard Gardiner, Visiting Professor, at UCL Laws will speak at the commemorative event of the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) for the 50 Years Anniversary of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties.
Dr Azaria will discuss the ‘completeness’ and ‘incompleteness’ of the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (VCLT) as a ‘code’ and the contribution of international jurisprudence and of the International Law Commission in continuing to ‘complete’ the code over time. Professor Richard Gardiner will discuss the different roles performed by the VCLT.
Dr Azaria is the convenor of the Law of Treaties module on the LLM programme at UCL Laws, which Professor Richard Gardiner contributes to.
