UCL Hannes Joebstl and Dean Eeckhout

UCL Faculty of Laws LLM student Mr Hannes Jöbstl has won the 2018 Georg Shwarzenberger Prize for outstanding study in the field of Public International Law.

The prize is endowed by friends and former students of the late Professor Georg Schwarzenberger, former Emeritus Professor of International Law in the University of London.

The prize was awarded jointly, in recognition of the two students' excellent results at the Masters degree level. Winners are selected by a panel convened by the Director of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS). To be eligible, students must be nominated by their College. The prize is open to students at University of London law schools.

Founded in 1947 and part of the Univeristy of London's School of Advanced Study, the IALS exists to foster advanced-level research and scholarship across the field of law.

The prize money will be evenly split evenly between the two winners.
