11 May 2018

Professorship promotes academic exchanges between France and Britain

Ioannis Lianos

Professor Ioannis Lianos has been awarded the prestigious Vincent Wright Chair at the Faculty of Law at the Paris Institute of Political Sciences (Sciences Po) in 2019.

Inaugurated in 2003, the Vincent Wright Chair is a visiting professorship that promotes academic exchanges between France and Britain by welcoming one professor from a UK university to Sciences Po each year. The Chair encourages European comparative research and helps develop cooperation between Sciences Po and British universities.

The award will facilitate and support the development of research networks and activities with key social science research centres at Sciences Po.

Professor Lianos will contribute to the activity of Sciences Po's research centres, in particular working on a project on digital capitalism and the legal system, exploring  the role of the legal system in incentivising innovation and in regulating the sharing of surplus value in the digital economy between various market participants. He will also teach two courses to postgraduate and undergraduate students in the context of the Sciences Po's specialisation in Economic Law.

Sciences Po is a highly selective French university (Grande École) in the social sciences, internationally recognised for the quality of its scientific output.
