Professor Jonathan Montgomery appointed Chair of Oxford University Hospitals NHSFT

Professor Jonathan Montgomery, Professor of Healthcare Law, has been appointed by the governors of Oxford University Hospitals NHSFT to take up the role of Chair when Dame Fiona Caldicott steps down in March 2019.

In addition to his academic work, Professor Montgomery has held a number of public appointments over the past twenty years. He is currently Chair of the Health Research Authority and plans to step down from that role once a successor is recruited.

Professor Montgomery has benefited from the synergies of his research and public service and aims to ensure that his teaching is informed by them, so that students get insight into the way in which law impacts on health services and policy making. He looks forward to drawing on his new responsibilities to enrich further the experience he can offer students.
