Francisco joined the Faculty of Law in September 2024, after being awarded the Faculty of Laws Private International Law Research Scholarship.  Francisco holds two Master's degrees, from UCL and The University of Venezuela.

Francisco's interests lie within the general theory of private international law, treaty law and arbitration. His PhD thesis focuses on the effectiveness of recognition clauses as expressed in various treaty and domestic sources, particularly from Latin America and Europe, in preventing limping situations in Savignian conflict-of-law systems, including England.

  • The recognition method in Inter-American and European PIL.

  • The judicial reform of the Venezuelan Private International Law Act of 1998.

  • Modern recognition theory and international arbitration.
