Submarine Cables and Pipelines under International law
13th Inter-sessional Meeting of the ILA Committee on Submarine Cables and Pipelines under International law
Since its establishment in 2019, the ILA Committee on Submarine Cables and Pipelines under International Law has been developing research and has produced three reports. At the 2024 Biennal Session of the International Law Association in Athens, building on its Third Report, the Committee decided to prepare “a set of guidelines on the monitoring and prevention of intentional acts of damage against submarine cables and pipelines, as well as measures after such acts occur (with accompanying commentary).”
On 5-6 February 2026, the Committee will hold its 13th (inter-sessional) meeting in London (UCL Laws), where the second reading of its draft guidelines will be considered.
This closed workshop is organized by the ILA Committee’s Chair, Dr Danae Azaria.
