Insolvency Forward Thinking 2025 conference
The Insolvency Service and UCL Laws invite you to the annual insolvency policy and technical Forward Thinking conference held at Bentham House, and online, on Tuesday 08 April 2025. On behalf of UCL Laws, the conference is co-organised by Honorary Professor of Practice Alex Wood and Associate Professor Magda Raczynska.
We are very grateful to everyone who has taken the time to submit an abstract. Once again, all of them were of an exceptionally high standard, making the selection process remarkably difficult. We are now excited to announce this year’s agenda.
This year’s papers will be presented by key figures from academia and industry including:
- Leveraging Behavioural Economics to Optimize Personal Insolvency Policies by Dr Neeti Shikha & Emily Reeve, University of the West of England, Bristol
- A Critical Review of Special Administrations by Prof Rebecca Parry, Nottingham Trent University
- The development of Special Administration Regimes in the UK by Robert Spence & Mike Pink, Interpath
- Enlightening the Creditor Duty by Philip Gavin, Technological University Dublin
- Environmental Activism by Parent Companies: Legal Incentives and Economic Realities by Prof Irit Mevorach, University of Warwick
- The Cramdown: A Conceptual Framework by Dr Riz Mokal, South Square, and Prof Stephan Madaus, Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg
- Landlords and Part 26A Restructuring Plans by Prof Sarah Paterson, LSE
- Lay of the Landlord Classes: Trends from Part 26A Restructuring Plans by Philip Hertz, Katelyn Ewart, Gabrielle Ruiz & Rahim Darr, Clifford Chance
- Cryptoassets in Insolvencies: Selected Difficulties and Necessary Guidelines by Prof Paula Moffatt & Prof Rebecca Parry, Nottingham Trent University
The agenda and the presentations from previous years’ conferences held at Aston University, Nottingham Trent University and the University of Liverpool, can be found via this link.
