About the talk:
Millions of people in South Asia are prejudiced by religious discrimination disguised as valid legislation. Join the UCL South Asia Legal Forum for a panel discussing how religious nationalism has been enabled by law in South Asian countries. Leading experts examine the political and religious motives underpinning the Rohingya crisis in Myanmar, Islamic conservatism in Pakistani blasphemy legislation, Hindu nationalism in Indian law and similar undercurrents in Sri Lanka. The panel will be chaired by Dr. Amber Darr, and will be followed by a Q&A and refreshments.
