About the talk
Mark will give his perspective on legal services innovation in the US and describe marketplace changes since the launch of Clearspire nearly a decade ago. He will also comment on the changes in the buyer-seller dynamic in the legal industry and illuminate opportunities for service providers as well as young lawyers.
About the speaker
Mark A. Cohen has had a long and distinguished career in the legal field, one where he has functioned at a high level in many different capacities. He was an acclaimed civil trial lawyer, BigLaw partner, national litigation boutique founder and managing partner, outside General Counsel, Receiver of an international business, legal innovator and co-Founder of Clearspire, law professor, and writer/speaker.
Mark is currently a weekly contributor to Forbes, Distinguished Lecturer in Law at Georgetown University Law Center, and, soon will also serve as Managing Director at a leading global multidisciplinary professional services provider.
About the discussant
Simon co-founded LOD in 2007 whilst an equity partner at BLP and he stepped down in 2012 to lead LOD full time. Since then, American Lawyer Magazine named Simon a top 50 innovator of the last 50 years – one of only three UK lawyers to be recognised as such, and the FT Legal Innovative Lawyers Awards 2015 named him as ‘Legal Innovator of the Year’ for “sending shockwaves through the legal industry”. He drives LOD’s service innovation, most recently having launched LOD’s new online legal marketplace in the UK, Spoke.law.
