From 20–22 March 2025, PhD student member Edward Pérez participated in a workshop organised by the ICCAL Lab on Democratic Resilience project, hosted by the Max Planck Institute for International Law and Comparative Law in Heidelberg, Germany. The Lab seeks to bring together established and early-career scholars to undertake sustained academic collaboration on the role of comparative public law for democratic resilience in Europe and Latin America.

During the workshop, Pérez, along with colleagues Corina Heri (University of Tilburg), Linnéa Nordlander (University of Copenhague), Thalia Viveros (University of Tilburg), and Stefania Rainaldi (Queen Mary University London), presented an ongoing project discussing the role of climate justice and intergenerational justice in the generation of democratic resilience.

The workshop is part of a three-year small grant won by the team towards contributing to the ongoing discussion on the role of law to form democratic resilience.
