GCDC at Centre for Comparative and Public Law Conference

GCDC members attend Centre for Comparative and Public Law 30th Anniversary Conference in Hong Kong.

On April 23 and 24, members of the GCDC attended the 30th Anniversary Conference of the Centre for Comparative and Public Law at the HKU Faculty of Law, organised by Professor Cora Chan (HKU), Professor Rosalind Dixon (UNSW), and Stefano Osella (HKU). Participants in the conference discussed constitutional design, the role of courts, doctrinal approaches to rights review, as well as papers on themes of democracy, federalism, environment law, religion, and more. UCL had a strong presence at this event – Dean Eloise Scotford discussed the UK Climate Change Act 2008 and the rule of law. GCDC Director, Erin Delaney, presented on federalism and comparative constitutional methodology, as well as, with Roger Masterman, on the role of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council within the UK constitution. GCDC member Berihun Gebeye presented on restoring faith in constitutionalism.
