Works in Progress Seminars

These internal-facing seminars are for members of the GCDC community to workshop papers, talks, and book chapters.

The Works-in-Progress Seminars (WIPS) provide a forum for members of the GCDC community to present on their work and receive constructive feedback from colleagues. As an internal-facing forum, WIPS offer Centre members and visiting researchers the opportunity to workshop papers, talks, and book chapters at various stages of development, benefitting from insightful feedback before publication or public presentation.

WIPS follow the 10-10 format: 10 pages of reading and no more than 10 minutes of presentation. The seminars embody the collaborative ethos of the GCDC, fostering a research environment where ideas are tested and arguments strengthened through constructive critique. By facilitating peer dialogue, WIPS ensure that research produced within the Centre is of the highest scholarly standard.
