Bio:

Ronan McCrea is professor of constitutional and European law at UCL. His work focuses on the future of the European Union, secularism and liberal democracy. He completed pupillage at Matrix Chambers in London and is a member of the Bar of Ireland and the Bar of England and Wales. He was a référandaire at the European Court of Justice in the chambers of Advocate General Poiares Maduro. He is a regular columnist whose writing has appeared in The Irish Times, The Financial Times and Handelsblatt. His next book The End of the Gay Rights Revolution: How Hubris and Over-Reach Are Undermining Gay Freedom will be published by Polity Press in the autumn of 2025.
