Bio:

Alessandro is primarily interested in an analysis of contractualised decision-making processes in English Planning Law, using relational contract theory as an analytical theoretical framework. He situates his research within the broader context of the pervasiveness of contract in the spheres of public and administrative law, as well as ‘neoliberal episodes’ identified and analysed in planning scholarship. Thus, bringing together different legal fields and drawing from two different disciplines, planning and law, Alessandro’s research relates to the articulation of a posited ideal of local democracy with enmeshing of public and private actors in public decision-making processes and the associated blurring of the public/private divide as well as sites of accountability.
