Khalid Sofi – LLM Public International Law 1992

Khalid Sofi
I graduated in 1992 with a LLM in Public International Law. I wanted to study at UCL Laws because of its reputation; its central London location in a global legal capital; and the array of resources and student activities on offer.

I loved the general atmosphere and experience at UCL Laws. My best memories include attending a weekend retreat at Cumberland Lodge, and a particularly enlightening session on the topic of Jurisprudence, led by Professor William Twining.

I qualified as a Solicitor after I graduated. I am currently a partner in London law firm Lee Bolton Monier-Williams LLP, specialising in the charity and not for profit sectors.

The best advice I could give to students at UCL would be to enjoy your time at UCL by participating in different student activities. Also, make good use of the world-class resources on campus and access to some of the best academics in world.
