Professor Eileen Denza CMG was an Assistant Lecturer at Bristol University and after call to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn, a Legal Adviser in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. She was for three years Counsellor (Legal Adviser) to the UK Representation to the European Communities. Later she was Counsel to the European Communities Committee of the House of Lords. Since 1997 she is a Visiting Professor at UCL teaching international and European law, mostly at LLM level, and supervising PhD students in these areas. Her publications include Diplomatic Law, just published by Oxford University Press in its 3rd edition, The Intergovernmental Pillars of the European Union, contributions to Satow’s Diplomatic Practice (6th edition in preparation), to Evans’ International Law and to EU Law for the 21st Century. She has appeared as a witness before Committees of Congress, the House of Lords and House of Commons and the European Parliament and acted as consultant in litigation in the UK and US.
