Support the Global Centre for Democratic Constitutionalism
Based at the UCL Faculty of Laws, the Global Centre for Democratic Constitutionalism (GCDC) seeks to advance scholarly knowledge of democratic governance, the rule of law, and constitutionalism.
Why this matters
Around the world, both new and long-established democracies are experiencing an erosion of democratic norms. This decline is marked by the rise of populist authoritarianism, the weakening of institutional and constitutional safeguards, and increasing violations of human rights.
Responding to these challenges requires the collective engagement and support of all those committed to democracy and the rule of law.
Our commitment
At the GCDC, we are building an inclusive, methodologically diverse, intellectually rigorous, and globally engaged research community dedicated to strengthening democratic resilience.
Across a broad range of activities, the Centre is advancing scholarly knowledge on democratic governance and the rule of law, and developing leading research on the conditions and pathways for constitutional resilience in competitive political systems.
