Dean of the Faculty of Laws
As the head of UCL Faculty of Laws, Professor Scotford sets the faculty’s academic vision, champions excellence in teaching and research, and represents its work and values within UCL and on the global stage. The Dean works closely with the senior leadership team to deliver this mission.
Deputy Dean (Strategy)
Professor Saprai supports the Dean in shaping, developing and delivering the Faculty’s vision and strategic priorities, including across education, research, people and HR, external engagement and advancement. He is also the Faculty’s UCL200 Champion and serves as the Co-Chair of the Academic Panel for UCL’s Disagreeing Well campaign.
Deputy Dean (People)
Professor Trapp leads initiatives that support the development, well-being, and success of staff and students, fostering an inclusive and collaborative community across UCL Laws.
Professor Olga Thomas
Vice Dean (Education)
Professor Thomas leads the faculty’s teaching and learning strategy, ensuring high-quality, innovative, and inclusive programmes that support student success across our faculty.
Vice Dean (Research)
Professor Colm O'Cinneide works closely with the Dean to oversee the faculty’s research strategy, encouraging excellence, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, while amplifying UCL Laws' societal and global impact.
Vice Dean (International)
Professor Marín Durán leads the Faculty’s international strategy, including global partnerships, student mobility, and support for the international community at UCL Laws.
Vice Dean (Equality, Diversity and Inclusion)
Professor Lynskey oversees the Faculty’s EDI strategy, fostering an inclusive culture, and ensuring equity across research, teaching, and the student experience.
Vice Dean (Education Innovation)
Professor Veale is responsible for the Faculty's education policies and practices concerning emerging skills, technologies, and challenges, and leads on the allocation of teaching responsibilities.
Director of Operations
Dr Thea Gibbs is responsible for shaping and managing the Faculty’s operations to enable UCL Laws’ academic, research, and institutional ambitions.
