As part of our commitment to clinical legal education, the Centre funded a paid internship at the Southwark Law Centre. The Southwark Law Centre provides specialist legal advice for people who cannot afford to pay for this in various areas, including planning, housing, and welfare rights.

"The internship was a fantastic opportunity for Gabhan to get first-hand legal experience and insight into planning law and the broader public law system.
He was a very impressive intern and offered incredibly useful assistance at a busy time for our Planning Voice project. He assisted with a complex planning inquiry fighting for more social housing as part of the redevelopment of a council estate, and carried out excellent pieces of research.
Gabhan has now moved onto a legal position at Friends of the Earth, where he is using his planning and environmental law skills to fight for climate justice – his time with us served as a perfect stepping stone.
