    Course structure

The course is unique as, unlike other summer courses, it doesn't just give you more knowledge about one subject. Lectures, classes and course content on the UCL Pre-University Summer School is multi-disciplinary - covering the sciences, arts and humanities.

You will develop key academic skills including: academic English, research, critical thinking, independent study, as well as your ability to work in a team with students from different cultures and nationalities.

Classes will take place entirely in English. You will be taught in classroom sessions, formal lectures, laboratories and workshops.

In the second week, you will use the skills and knowledge developed in the first week to undertake a small research project based on a global issue.

At the end of the course you will deliver a group presentation on your research to your fellow students and staff.

The course will also provide you with a great opportunity to meet and learn with students from a variety of countries. Last summer students from Argentina, China, Italy, Japan, Russia, Turkey, Taiwan and Ukraine enrolled on the course, as well as two UK students from UCL Academy.
