UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE)

UPC Progression Scholarship

We offer a scholarship each year to the top two students on each UPC pathway. They’ll go to the students with the strongest academic performance throughout their UPC pathway.

Key information

  • Value: Two awards of £5,000 (per year) towards undergraduate tuition fees
  • Available to: UPC students progressing onto a UCL undergraduate degree
  • Selection criteria: Academic performance throughout the UPC
  • Eligible programmes: All undergraduate degrees

To be eligible, you will be:

  • enrolled on UCL's Undergraduate Preparatory Certificates for Humanities (UPCH) or Undergraduate Preparatory Certificates for Science & Engineering (UPCSE) programme.
  • admitted for undergraduate studies at UCL.

Selection criteria

The student receiving the scholarship will have the strongest academic performance throughout their UPC pathway. We don’t consider students' financial position when awarding the UPC Progression Scholarship.

Value: benefits and duration

Two scholarships are awarded each year - one to a UPCSE student and one to a UPCH student.

The scholarships provide £5,000 for each year of the undergraduate programme. This money is applied to the tuition fee.

The annual renewal of the scholarship requires adequate progress. You’ll need to receive an upper second-class honours (2:1) or above throughout your course.

Application procedure and deadline

There’s no application procedure for the UPC Progression Scholarship. We consider all UPC students who hold an undergraduate offer at UCL.

Notification of results

CLIE will make its recommendation in July (at the end of the UPC). We’ll notify successful candidates by the end of August.
