97% of UPC students receive offers from top universities
9 June 2022
UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE) is proud to announce 97% of our Undergraduate Preparatory Certificate (UPC) students have received conditional offers to study at UCL and other Russell Group universities.
The UPC prepares international students for a UCL undergraduate degree if they don't have the qualifications to apply directly.
Taught on our central London campus in Bloomsbury, the UPC is an intensive one-year foundation course.
It is taught by experienced UCL teachers and prepares students with academic skills, English language skills and subject knowledge required to thrive in their undergraduate degrees.
Most UPC students continue their studies with UCL while some go on to study at other top UK universities.
We're delighted to confirm that of this year's UPC students applying to universities via UCAS:
- 85% received a conditional offer from UCL
- 97% received a conditional offer from UCL or another Russell Group university
UCL is ranked 8th in the world (QS World University Rankings 2023) and is the UK's second-largest university with 11 faculties across a broad range of academic disciplines.
Our UPC students have been successful in achieving conditional offers from the vast majority of UCL faculties. 100% of UPC students applying to the following UCL faculties received an offer:
- Arts & Humanities
- IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society
- Mathematical & Physical Sciences
- Medical Sciences
- Population Health Sciences
- School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES)
UCL CLIE would like to congratulate all of our UPC students and we wish them every success in their undergraduate studies.
