Changes at CLIE in response to the coronavirus (Covid-19)
24 March 2020
Updates about teaching arrangements, access to buildings, contacting staff and further support available.
The UCL Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE) is changing the way it operates in response to the ongoing coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
Changes to teaching delivery
UCL has stopped face-to-face teaching as of Friday 13 March. Students are no longer required to attend classes in person and teaching will be delivered online. These arrangements will be in place for the remainder of the academic year.
Students will have received further information from their academic team about how their course will be delivered remotely. Students should contact their tutor in the first instance if they have any questions.
Access to buildings
CLIE and the Self-Access Centre (SAC) at 26 Bedford Way have now closed until 15th April at the earliest.
The vast majority of UCL buildings, including all libraries, are also now closed. The only activities that will still take place onsite are those where UCL academics are conducting research that is in the immediate national interest.
The UCL Student Centre has now also closed as of Tuesday 24 March.
Contacting staff
CLIE’s academic and professional services staff are working remotely but can be contacted during normal working hours (9-5pm GMT). We recommend you contact them via email if possible.
Support for students
UCL Student Support & Wellbeing offers a range of resources and useful information for any students who need support during this challenging time.
