CLIE lesson observations 2018-19

1 October 2018

The following observation cycles are planned to take place during this academic year:

  1. The CLIE Peer Dialogue Scheme (previously known as the Peer Observation Scheme) will take place from 22 October to 2 November 2019. The scheme will be as in the last academic year in that the tutors will meet before the observations to identify an area of focus that they would like to discuss after the observations have taken place. The peer observation experience can form part of a tutor's appraisal meeting and discussion if appropriate.
  2. The annual observations for the EAP team will begin after Reading Week and will follow the same procedures as in previous years.
  3. There will be EAP Course observations and also Subject Course observations (previously known as mini-observations). Those for the EAP team will take place after the November Reading Week from 12 to 23 November 2018, and those for the UPC Subject tutors will be from 21 January to 1 February 2019. The focus of these observations will be discussed with the relevant course coordinators and their teams prior to the beginning of the observation cycle. The observation team will consist of Christine Hoffmann, Jane Skirving and Madeleine du Vivier.
