Academic requirements by country

Grade 12 Graduation Certificate (Baccalauria) with no less than 80% overall and 85% in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Certificate of Unified examination along with the Certificate of General Secondary Education with an average overall mark of 16/20 and no less than 17/20 in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

We do not consider applicants who have or are taking the Araratian Baccalaureate (certified by Cambridge International) as this qualification allows direct entry to a UCL undergraduate degree.

Students who are enrolled in the CAPE (CXC) (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination-Caribbean Examinations Council) are not eligible for the UPC as they can apply for direct entry onto a UCL undergrdauate degree.

Award of the Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate with a minimum overall mark of 16.0 or 76% and no less than 17.0 or 81% in the required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Applicants from Greek Cypriot community: if you score 19.0 or 91% in the Apolytirion of Lykeio and have no less than two additional A levels at grades BB, you are eligible for direct entry to UCL.

Applicants from Turkish Cypriot community: if you have completed one year of a Lisans Diplomasi (Bachelor Degree) at a Turkish university recognised by UCL, with an average of 3.3/4.0 CGPA, you are eligible for direct entry to UCL.

Titulo de Bachiller with a minimum overall mark of 8/10 and no less than 8/10 in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Ethiopian School Leaving Certificate with grades A in required and/or relevant subjects; and/or the Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Examination (EHEEE) with no subject under 80 and a total mark of around 350/700.

West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with no less than B2 overall and in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Award of the Upper Secondary School Leaving certificate, Apolytirion of Lykeio, with a minimum overall mark of 16.0 and no less than 17.0 in the required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Please note that applicants who scored 19.0 in the Apolytirion and have no less than two additional A Levels at grades BB are eligible for direct entry to UCL.'

India / Senior School Certificate Examination (ISC / SSC) with a minimum overall mark of 70% and no less than 75% in required and/or relevant academic subjects (or 60% overall and 65% in required and/or relevant academic subjects for Maharashta, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal Boards).

Students with CISCE and CBSE certificates are not eligible for UPC courses as these qualifications are accepted by UCL for direct entry

Shahadat Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama (General Secondary Education Certificate) with a minimum overall B grade (80%) and no less than A (90%) in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Students with no less than 3 AS levels and minimum marks of B in all subjects and A in the required and/or relevant subjects will also be considered.

Shahadat-Al-Thanawia Al-A'ama (Secondary Education Certificate) with an overall score of 80% and 90% in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

School Leaving Certificate Examination (Grade XI & XII) with every subject passed with grade 3.2 (B+) and 3.6 (A) in required and/or relevant academic subjects (since 2018).

Bachillerato en Ciencias y Humanidades / Titulo de Bachiller with 80% overall and in the required and/or relevant subjects.

Please note that students who are enrolled in the CAPE(CXC) (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination-Caribbean Examinations Council) are eligible for direct entry.

Intermediate/Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) with no less than 70% overall (or 770 cumulated score overall) and 70% in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Bachillerato /Bachiller en Ciencias y Letras with no less than 4 overall and 4 in the required and/or relevant subjects.

Please note that students who are enrolled in the CAPE(CXC) (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination-Caribbean Examinations Council) are eligible for direct entry.

Diploma de Escuela Superior (academic stream) with no less than 3.0 overall and in the required and/or relevant subjects.

Please note that students who are enrolled in the CAPE(CXC) (Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination-Caribbean Examinations Council) are eligible for direct entry.

Shahadat Al-Thanawaya Al-Aama (General Secondary Education Certificate) or the Qatar Senior School Certificate (QSSC) with advanced level for each subject, with a minimum overall B grade (80%) and no less than A (90%) in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Tawjihiyah (General Secondary Education Certificate) with 80% overall and no less than 90% in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Overall average of 70% in your final three years of High School, including an overall average of 70% in each required and/or relevant academic subject, or High School Graduation Equivalency Examination with an overall minimum mark of 85%.

Al Shahada Al Thanawiya/Baccalaureat (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) with an overall mark of 70% (equal of above 160 marks) and no less than 75% (equal or above 210 marks) in required and/or relevant academic subjects in either the Scientific or Literary streams. 

Senior High School Graduation Certificate with an average grade of 70% and no less than 75% in required and/or relevant subjects. We may consider the Taiwanese Senior Vocational High School Certificate with suitable required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Award of the Mathayom Suksa 6 (M6) with a minimum overall mark of 3.0 ('Good') and no less than grade 3.5 ('Very good') in required and/or relevant subjects.

Baccalauréat de l'Enseignement Secondaire, with an overall grade of 14/20 ('Bien') and no less than 16/20 in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Award of either of: the Devlet Lise Diplomasi (State High School Diploma), Lise Bitirme Diplomasi (Private High School Diploma), or Anadolu Lisesi (Anatolian High School Diploma) with a minimum overall mark of 75% and no less than 80% in required and/or relevant subjects.

Certificate of Completed Secondary Education with an average of 4.5, including grade 5 in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

GED (Graduation Education Development) Test, High School Graduation Diploma, High School Equivalency test (HiSET) or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) with the minimum equivalents of 3.4/4.0 or 3.6/4.3 CGPA overall.

Akademik Litsey Diplomi (Diploma of Academic Lyceum) with an average of 4.5, including grades of 5 in required and/or relevant academic subjects; or the Kasb Hunar Kolleji Diplomi (Diploma of Professional College) if required and/or relevant academic subjects only and grades of no less than 5 in required and/or relevant academic subjects.

Tot Nghiep Pho Thong Trung Hoc (Upper Secondary School Graduation Certificate) with a final average grade of 8/10 and no less than 8/10 in required and/or relevant subjects.

Award of the General Certificate of Education (GEC) with no less a Credit (grades 5-6) in all subjects and no less than a Merit (grades 3-4) in required and/or relevant academic subjects.
