JRO digital assistant marks first year with major impact on research support

Nearly a year after its introduction, the JRO's AI-powered chatbot is transforming how researchers access support and information.
Since its launch in July 2025, the JRO Bot – a digital assistant designed to answer queries on JRO systems, processes and procedures – has handled more than 1,000 interactions, providing instant guidance to users, and reducing the need for back-and-forth, manual communication and support.
The impact has been significant. Overall email traffic to JRO mailboxes has fallen by an average of 28%, with some teams seeing reductions of up to 45%, indicating that researchers and research teams are able to access the support they need directly from the JRO Bot.
As the JRO Bot approaches its first anniversary, we are inviting researchers and research support staff to complete a short survey about their experiences. Your feedback will help shape the next stage of the JRO Bot's development and ensure it continues to meet the needs of the research community.
The survey should take no more than five minutes to complete.
