UCLH approval times fall

The average approval time for UCLH hosted studies has fallen significantly over the last year.
Median approval time for hosted studies at UCLH was 24 calendar days in July 2012. This is a significant fall from previous months. In August 2011 the median was 68 calendar days.
This fall in approval times is the result of work by the JRO Research Management & Governance, Contracts and Finance teams to streamline systems and monitor timelines.
Work to reduce the overall times of externally-sponsored and commercial studies continues. Areas being worked on include: service level agreements with service departments for costings, early review of studies and actioning of governance, contractual and financial components which may impact upon approval times.
