UCL Outreach Week

A number of creative activities throughout the week will feature innovative work taking place around UCL and the important work academic departments play in outreach work.Activity sessions will also cover advice on identifying and targeting your audience, engaging young people, long-term engagement projects and widening participation and admissions.

Students and staff will be engaging with groups outside UCL, such as school pupils from socio-economic groups that are under-represented amongst the UCL student population. Those taking part are highly motivated and successful, working as ambassadors, mentors, language ambassadors and horizon ambassadors.

Highlight of the week is a meet-the-team event with Professor Anthony Smith on Wednesday 7 November at 1pm. The event, which is taking place in the Garden Room and includes a buffet lunch, will give staff an opportunity to find out more about how the Outreach Office can support departments, examples of departmental best practice in outreach and recruitment activities and the development of UCL's Access Agreement and the UK undergraduate recruitment strategy.
