MHRA and NIBSC to merge

8 November 2012

The National Institute for Biological Standards and Control (NIBSC), currently part of the Health Protection Agency (HPA), is to become a new 'centre' of the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) alongside the Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD).

The MHRA and NIBSC  already work closely together and this merger, on 1 April 2013, will create a new organisation that supports science and research and the regulation of medicines and medical devices.

For more information on the MHRA/NIBSC merger please see the MHRA website.
