Official launch of UCL Clinical Trials Unit

22 June 2012

The UCL Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is being officially launched on 12 July.

The specialist unit, which was originally set up in 2010 and expanded rapidly in 2012, has a specific remit to design, conduct, analyse and publish the results of clinical trials and other studies.

The CTU will provide UCL School of Life and Medical Sciences and UCL Partners with an academic trials unit that will increase trial capacity and quality for researchers at UCL and UCL Partner institutions.

The UCL CTU is part of UCL's Clinical Trials Collaborative Group along with the Cancer Research UK, UCL Cancer Trials Centre, the MRC Clinical Trials Unit and PRIMENT Clinical Trials Unit. Professor Peter Brocklehurst is the Interim Director.

The official launch of the unit on July 12 will give guests the opportunity to hear about the CTU and to talk to some of the investigators currently collaborating with the unit.

For more information go to the CTU's web pages or contact Clare Torud or Alan Bailey (c.torud@ucl.ac.uk or a.bailey@ucl.ac.uk).
