End-User Engagement Advisor

Chris Phillips GCGI FSyL, is founder and managing director of the International Prepare and Protect Security Office (IPPSO), which provides security-related consultancy services to blue chip companies, such as Marks & Spencer, BNP Pariba, Sodexo and Aon. He also acts as an associate consultant at Aon Risk Solutions, is Head of Security and Resilience at Major Events International Ltd, principal advisor to the RECON Strategic Advisory Services, providing Prepare and Protect advice in India, and head of Security and Resilience for CSARN, the leading UK based business security and resilience membership network, providing network members with training on resilience and risk assessment.

Mr Phillips has thirty years of experience as a police officer and was Head of the UK National Counter-Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) from 2005 to 2011, where he had responsibility for, amongst other things, training and managing over 240 Counter-Terrorism Security Advisors. He devised, developed and delivered the strategy and tactics for the protection of Crowded places. He has worked closely with the UK Home Office and Lord West to review and then develop new and innovative ways of delivering CT advice to business sectors, promoting CT to those responsible for buildings within crowded places. He is a regular speaker to Governments, Business and Police both in the UK and across the world.

While at NaCTSO, he was responsible for overseeing the first, as well as subsequent, EURO-PROTECT conferences and CT training events, attended by end-users from 17 European Community members. Based on this extensive experience, Chris Phillips advises the PRIME Consortium on the most effective ways to engage end-users in PRIME's research and dissemination activities.
