Department of Security and Crime Science

As a cross-University institute, JDI draws on the academic expertise of staff from over 30 UCL departments. The role of JDI is to provide a forum to facilitate the collaboration of academics and researchers from different disciplines across UCL who have an interest in crime prevention and detection.

Many of the core staff involved in JDI research projects and short courses
are based in the Department of Security and Crime Science, which was formed
as a result of the growth of the JDI.

JDI is managed by a Steering Committee that comprises representatives from UCL departments that contribute to JDI activities.

The Director of the JDI is Professor Richard Wortley.
