The following is required to use the UCL Remote Access VPN service:
- A network connection outside of the UCL corporate network (e.g. eduroam, broadband connection from home, café hotspot wireless etc).
- A UCL User ID and password.
IMPORTANT: When connected to the UCL Remote Access VPN Service, ALL your traffic will be sent through the UCL network, regardless of whether the destination is a UCL address or an address on the Internet.
The following platforms are currently supported. Please select the Operating System of the device you want to connect to the Remote Access VPN Service.
(You will need to log in with your UCL User ID and password.)
- Microsoft Windows 8 - (now supported on a best efforts basis- see Help and Support)
- Microsoft Windows 7
- Microsoft Windows Vista
- Microsoft Windows XP
- 10.6 (Snow Leopard) / 10.7 (Lion) / 10.8 (Mountain Lion) / 10.9 (Mavericks)
- Apple iPad
The following platforms are NOT currently supported. However, a VPN client is available for them and generic instructions are provided.
NOTE: Testing has not been carried out on these devices.
You are installing the application onto your machine/device and configuring the client entirely at your own risk and no guarantees can be made that they will work.
Other Operating Systems (including support for Microsoft Mobile) are not currently supported but may be supported in the near future.
