Accessing Research Data Storage through SSH on Linux

It is our experience that most users of our service who are proficient with the Linux operating system will tend to use the command-line SSH tools provided with most Linux distributions; our service is compatible with any SSH client that supports SSH a minimum of SSH version 2.0

The operating system running on our login nodes is CentOS 6 and users are invited to login to use the operating system, particularly for data transfer operations. However we do ask that users do not use our system for running computational codes (as we have limited CPU capacity) and that if they require computer functionality, that they apply for an account on the UCL High Performance Cluster Computing facility, provided by the Research Computing team.
