ColourQube 8900 - Troubleshooting

ColourQube8900 - Clear Paper Jam, Tray 2-5

1. Before removing the paper tray from the printer, look at the jam message on the Control Panel. If another jam is shown, clear that jam first.

2. Pull out the appropriate tray until it stops.

3. Make sure that the paper being used is a supported type, weight, and size for the tray.

NOTE: Custom size paper can only be printed from Tray 1.

4. Remove any crumpled paper from the tray. If the paper is torn, remove all torn pieces from the printer.

5. Push the tray completely back into the printer.

ColourQube8900 - Clear Paper Jam, Tray 1

1. Remove any paper from Paper Tray 1.

2. If no jammed paper was found, push up the latch on the left side of the printer to open the Top Left Side Door.

3. Remove any remaining pieces of paper.

4. Close the door.

ColourQube8900 - How to Add Ink

When the ink is low, a warning message appears on the Control Panel. When the ink must be replaced, an error message appears on the Control Panel. You can add ink any time the printer is idle.

CAUTION: Use of ink other than Genuine Xerox ColorQube solid ink can affect print quality and printer reliability. It is the only ink designed and manufactured under strict quality controls by Xerox for specific use with this printer.

NOTES:

  • Keep ink in its packaging until you are ready to use it.
  • Identify the ink by number, color, and shape.
  • Do not force the solid ink when inserting it into the printer.
  • To avoid jams, never insert broken solid ink into the printer.

To load solid ink sticks:

1. Press the ink Access Door Release button, and then open the Ink Access Door.

2. Place the solid ink into the opening of the appropriate ink loading bin. Do not force the solid ink into the bin. Each color is shaped uniquely to fit into the correct bin.

3. Close the Ink Access Door.

ColourQube8900 - Load Paper, Tray 1

Tray 1 supports the widest variety of paper types. It is intended for small quantity jobs and jobs using special media. The tray extension provides support for larger paper.

1. Open Tray 1 by rotating it outward.

3. Fan paper before loading it in the paper tray.

4. Insert the paper with the short edge first. NOTES:

a. Load pre-printed paper into the tray with the printed side face-down.

b. Load hole punched paper with the holes toward the back.

c. Do not load paper above the maximum fill line. Overfilling the tray can cause the printer to jam.

5. Adjust the width guides until they just touch the edges of the paper.

6. Verify that the paper is the correct size, type, and weight. If not, change the paper settings.

7. Select [Confirm] on the Touch Screen.

1. Remove any paper from Paper Tray 1.

2. Open the Top Left Side Door.

3. Remove the jammed paper. NOTE: To avoid damage, always remove jammed paper carefully without tearing it. Try to remove the paper in the same direction it normally moves through the printer. Even a small piece of paper left in the printer can cause a jam. Do not reload paper that has jammed.

4. Close the Top Left Side Door.

5. Replace the paper in the tray.

ColourQube8900 - How to Empty the Waste Tray

When the Waste Tray is full, the Control Panel displays an Empty Waste Tray message.

To empty the Waste Tray:


1. Open the Front Door. WARNING: The Waste Tray can be hot; handle it carefully.

2. Remove the Waste Tray from the printer.

3. Empty the Waste Tray in a waste container. Twist the tray slightly to dislodge the waste ink. The ink is non-toxic and can be discarded as normal office waste.

CAUTION: Do not attempt to reuse the waste ink in the printer; it can damage the printer. This damage is not covered under the printer warranty.

4. Insert the Waste Tray completely into the printer. NOTE: The tray must be out of the printer for more than five seconds to clear the Empty Waste Tray message on the Control Panel.

5. Close the Front Door.

1. If the paper is visible at the Output Tray Exit, remove the paper by pulling it out.

2. If another jam message appears on the Control Panel, clear that jam.

3. If the jam at exit message is still displayed, open and close the Top Left Side Door to clear the error.
