Installing your own wireless service in your department

UCL departments can install their own wireless services. However, the installation of any wireless service * is subject to the UCL policy on connecting equipment to the college network.

Operational Criteria for Wireless Access Installations

In addition all wireless networks must be registered and subject to configuration instructions.

Wireless Access Point Registration

* Includes Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n) devices operating in the 2.4GHz & 5GHz frequency range and Bluetooth.

Any wireless service which is broadcasted from a UCL premises and which is NOT registered with the Information Services Division (ISD) may be disconnected without notice! This is regardless of the type of wireless service offered!
