Faculty Learning Technology Leads (FLTLs)
![]() | Faculty Learning Technology Lead (Arts and Humanities) | Abbi joined UCL in July 2020. Previously a Learning Technologist at St. Mary’s University, Abbi is a Fellow of the HEA, and a CMALT assessor (with a CMALT specialism in fostering Digital Confidence). Abbi is particularly fond of Moodle, and quite excessively enjoys designing solutions and workflows in available platforms. Outside higher education, Abbi has continuously run online businesses since 1998, cultivating the belief that effective digital design (commercial, pedagogical or recreational) is led by the intended audience and outcome alike. |
![]() | Faculty Learning Technology Lead (Bartlett, Built Environment) | Robbie started at UCL in 2010 and has worked for the Departments of Greek and Latin, German, Scandinavian Studies, Italian, the Ear Institute, Computer Science, ICH, Office for International Affairs, CenTras, SELCS, Clinical Educational and Health Psychology and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. His current role as Faculty Learning Technology Lead entails Faculty-level coordination of learning technology support to ensure that effort and expertise is guided, deployed and cascaded to best effect to departmental teams. He has a particular interest in digital accessibility. |
![]() | Faculty Learning Technology Lead (Brain Sciences) | Neil has been working at UCL since 2003 - starting off at what is now the Ear Institute working as an AV Technician to support teaching. He specialised in filming and producing head and neck surgery footage for trainee surgeons.

![]() | Faculty Learning Technology Lead (Engineering Sciences) | Anna joined UCL in February 2020 and has since then worked with the Faculty of Engineering. Anna is a trained teacher, holding a PhD in Drama and Theatre which enables her to understand the demand on academics and can support them based on her experiences from an academic perspective and learning technologist. She became interested in learning technology whilst working in the charity sector. |

| Kat joined the Faculty of Engineering in 2022, previously she worked as a Programme Administrator for an MSc within the Institute of Epidemiology and Healthcare. Kat has worked in Higher Education since 2015 holding a mixture of event management and administrative roles. She enjoys all aspects of Moodle, particularly finding activities which increase student engagement with module materials. With degrees in Humanities subject, she can analyse a situation from several perspectives and find the best solution, with backups at the ready! |
![]() | Faculty Learning Technology Lead (IOE) | Tim is a Lecturer in Education and Technology at IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society, where he leads the IOE Learning Technologies Unit at the UCL Knowledge Lab. With experience as a learning technology consultant in further education and remote organisational learning, Tim has participated in research and consultancy projects on e-assessment, online collaboration, learning design, and academic development. His background as a sound engineer and media producer adds expertise in large-scale events, mass participation, web conferencing, communication, and online pedagogy. Tim teaches IOE postgraduate modules online, providing a practical perspective to his role as the IOE Faculty Learning Technology Lead. |

His expertise sits at the intersection of computer science and information law, consdiering issues of fundamental rights amidst advanced data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence, and encrypted computation. |

![]() | Faculty Learning Technology Lead (Mathematical and Physical Sciences) | Richard, who joined UCL in August 2020, brings over 30 years of diverse experience in business and education, including the defence industry, management consultancy, web design/development, and both secondary and higher education. He holds a BSc in Psychology from UCL, a Masters in User Experience from the Open University, and a PGCE in Secondary Science and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Exeter. Richard has extensive teaching experience across various levels and contexts, with a special interest in authentic assessment and its connection to the workplace. His research focuses on ecological approaches to educational technology, particularly the concept of affordance, and the potential of digital spaces to create unique learning experiences. |

![]() | Faculty Learning Technology Lead (Population Health Sciences) | With a background in skilled manual labour, construction management, educational awarding bodies, charities, the Arts, corporate enterprise and entrepreneurship, information technology, e-learning and instructional design, you can basically ask him questions on anything, and even if he doesn't know the answers, he will always be polite, wise and often humorous in his response. |
![]() | Faculty Learning Technology Lead (Social and Historical Sciences) | Dr Fiona Harvey is the Faculty Learning Technology Lead for Social and Historical Sciences. She has worked in Further Education and Higher Education for over 20 years. She has taught and supported academic staff in educational-focused projects and led teams (including students as partners) supporting the development of educational technology practice for both staff and students. She has worked nationally and internationally in her roles as President of The Association for Learning Technology (ALT), as a member of the board (and Judge) for the eAssessment Association, The Centre for Recording Achievement (the CRA), The British Council and The HEA. She is also an active member of The Bloomsbury Learning Environment (BLE) and co-founded their London Change Agents Network. She is a Senior Member of the HEA and works with academic staff to support the effective and appropriate (strategic) use of educational technology (including Generative AI, documenting learning with ePortfolios and Open Badges and Digital Skills). |

Anasuya previously worked as an Educational Technologist at City, University of London. She has a degree in Education and Technology from the Institute of Education, UCL. She has also worked in education research in India and is particularly interested in digital access and accessibility. |

She is also the first point of contact for student queries regarding Moodle and online assessments. |
![]() | Lecturer and Digital Education Lead (Department of Biochemical Engineering at UCL) | As a lecturer – Digital Education and at the Department of Biochemical Engineering at UCL, I am tasked with developing new online (and blended) courses and modules for the undergraduate, graduate and professional learners. Part of my duties also include liaising and collaborating with academics (both internally and externally) and with industry experts to initiate and develop externally-facing courses (with a blend of interactive content, formative and summative assessment, case studies, gamification, etc.). In addition, I work with external contractors developing animation videos for learning and promotional purposes. |
