Students: How your name appears in UCL systems is changing - 28 January 2026

UCL is updating student display names across Microsoft 365 and Teams to “First name Last name” (instead of “Last name, First name”).

• Improves searching and recognition in online classes and meetings
• Applies automatically — no action needed
• No service disruption expected

This change is planned to take place on 2 February 2026.
