eduroam certificate change - Thursday 22 May 2025
19 May 2025
We will be changing the certificate for the eduroam service on Thursday 22 May.
If you have previously connected to eduroam manually by selecting it from the list of available networks then the next time you connect to eduroam you will see a message informing you that the certificate has changed and you will be prompted to accept the new certificate.
If you are using a Desktop@UCL machine or have connected using the eduroam CAT tool you will not need to take any action.
The certificate message will vary according to your operating system, on macOS a window will display the new certificate details and you need to click ‘Trust’, on Windows a message will display in the WiFi list next to eduroam asking if you expect to see eduroam in this location and you need to click connect, please check that the certificate is issued by 'Sectigo'.
If you have any issues after accepting the certificate you should remove/forget the eduroam network from your list of WiFi networks and either re-connect to it manually or use the eduroam CAT tool. Instructions for both methods can be found on the eduroam connection page.
If you still have any issues connecting to eduroam after following these instructions, please contact the IT Services Desk.
