26 November 2024
Find out more about the key deliverables to look forward to from ISD’s Digital Portfolio teams this term.
A key part of ISD’s approach to structuring its work is Termly Increment (TI) Planning. This takes place across two days each term and involves reviewing roadmaps and product backlogs, as well as planning out the most impactful work to do in the coming three months.
Our latest TI Planning session took place 16–17 October 2024 and brought together all the Digital Portfolio teams, colleagues and key business stakeholders. Check out our top five big-ticket items to look forward to from our teams this term:
Better identity theft protection for our students via an extension of multi-factor authentication
We are committed to providing effective digital protection to our community members and will be extending multi-factor authentication to all students by next Easter. This will add a safe and secure verification method to digital accounts and help prevent identity theft. You can find out more about multi-factor authentication via our dedicated FAQs page.
Portico support via an upgrade of SITS
SITS, also known as Portico, is our central Student Records system. It's used to store, administer and manage all aspects of student information – from application and enrolment, through to when we send our students their degree certificates. SITS will be upgraded in December 2024 to bring users continued support and stability.
The first Drupal 10 website (IOE)
UCL’s first Drupal 10 based website for the IOE has just launched. This the first of many to be rolled out in the coming months. Drupal 10 provides a step change in improving the user experience as well as significant enhancements in functionality and a full design framework for UCL site managers and editors.
Enabling Axiom forecasting for financial planning across UCL
This tool will play a critical role in streamlining and enhancing forecasting capabilities and helping to ensure financial sustainability.
Doubling network bandwidth between UCL sites
We'll be supporting research by providing high speed, resilient network links between UCL campus sites – doubling bandwidth from 200GB to 400GB.
While we’ve highlighted five key improvements, our teams are working to deliver many more product benefits and enhancements to our community members this term. For a more comprehensive view of what we have planned, check our Highlight Plan for Term 1 2024/25.
