Getting started with Microsoft Teams

13 March 2020

All members of UCL have access to Microsoft Teams.

Microsoft Teams is a chat-based workspace in Office 365 that makes it easy to have conversations, host meetings, share files and collaborate on documents, and get work done within your teams.

Microsoft Teams can be accessed from many device types including Desktop @ UCL, Windows PC’s, Mac OS, iOS, Android, Linux or just a browser. It does not require a VPN or to be connected to the UCL network. Users outside UCL can also be added to Teams as long as they also use the Teams client.

Download the client for your device

As per advice in the daily coronavirus updates we strongly advise you to make yourself familiar with Microsoft Teams and if you lead a team of any sort you may also want to create a team right away and start using it. The information stored and transmitted within Microsoft Teams is owned and controlled by UCL.

Please sign in to Microsoft Teams now, so you are ready to go when you need to chat with a colleague or join an online meeting.

Visit the Teams support site to find lots of useful links and resources to help you get started using Microsoft Teams.
