Update 3pm 14 February 2020

We are pleased to report that all core business services are now working as normal. Apologies for the disruption caused.


Update 11:50am 14 February 2020

Following further work this morning we are pleased to be able to say that the vast majority of our services are now working as normal. Please do report any issues to the IT Services Desk. Apologies for the disruption this has caused.


Update 10am 14 February

Last night we suffered a significant failure in one of our datacentres. Services were unavailable from 6:36pm. Our teams have been working through the night to restore services as soon as possible. Following a full review of services we are aware that there are still some UCL systems and applications that are unavailable. We are working to restore these as a priority.

Main systems that we know that have been restored include:

  • Moodle
  • MyHR/My Finance
  • Portico/SITS
  • Print @ UCL
  • Desktop @ UCL

We will provide a further update later this morning.

Update 7:50 14 February

We are still assessing the impact of the problems experienced last night but we can report that Moodle is now available again. We will provide a further update once we have checked across all our services. Apologies for the disruption caused.


We are receiving reports of problems accessing a number of UCL applications and services including:

  • Moodle
  • Portico
  • IRIS
  • RPS
  • UCL Discovery
  • UCL Wiki

UCL Desktop performance may also be affected.

We apologise for the disruption this is causing. We are working on identifying the root cause of the issue.
